So the M-box is on (little blue light shines) and it must be connected since one hears the usual tune Windows plays when plugging the USB from the M-box into a USB port on the computer. When I play the source, the sound comes through loud and clear on the speaker. I have a quarter inch phone jack leading from the sound source to the Line/DI input on the back of the M-box (the 02 instead of the 01 - does that matter?), and output to a speaker from a Monitor Output jack. As has tended to happen from time to time over the years, I'm encountering the above message again - this time with my M-box that came bundled with my Protools LE version 8.0.4. Actually, I've been with you ever since the Digi001.
I'm not a new user but my question is basic enough for a new user.
